Whether in the office, at home or on the go, mobile work models are no longer uncommon. But how do the devices get to the employees at home, are the security and administration of the IT workstation guaranteed and does the supply of consumables work?
All of these questions arise when more and more employees take advantage of the possibility of mobile and hybrid workplace environments. With “HP Work from Home”, HP has now put together packages that are intended to make it easier for corporate customers to implement these work models.
HP already offers the program in several countries, including Germany. The packages include the delivery of PC and printer hardware directly to employees at home or to the office, automated ink or toner deliveries when the fill level is low, HP Wolf Security for certain devices as well as “Proactive Insights functionality” that manages Supports remote workers at remote locations, including remote diagnostics and next business day support.
From the end of the year, HP also plans to equip printers with functions for cloud security management and a secure printing environment as part of the program. This is intended to give IT administrators a better overview and to simplify the management of important security settings for remote devices.
Some of these tools are cloud-based. HP does not rule out that “in a first phase some of the data may also be stored on US servers”. Of course, the requirements of data protection and the GDPR are guaranteed for all products and offers, assures the company.
Initially, HP Work from Home will only be offered to HP-MPS customers in this country, and that exclusively in the direct sales model. Customer care is taken over by the HP Managed Print Services service organization.
