Watch .. a special shirt from Naples to honor Maradona on the anniversary of his death
The Italian club Napoli announced a special shirt that the players will wear during the November matches of the Italian Premier League, in honor of Argentine legend Diego Maradona on the first anniversary of his death.
“Napoli will commemorate Maradona’s death with a ceremonial shirt, which the players will wear in the club’s three Serie A matches in November against Verona, Inter and Lazio,” the club said in a statement on its official website.
The statement indicated that a year after the death of the legend, the Italian club will honor Maradona, as a symbolic figure of his time and the undisputed icon of world football, by wearing a specially designed shirt named “Maradona Game”.
According to the photo that the club published with the statement, the shirt features a picture of Maradona with a large imprint, which represents the club’s desire to pass on the legacy of the Argentine hero to the younger generations in the city.
The statement indicated that the new shirt will be available in 3 different colors, as 1926 pieces of each color will be produced, which is the number of the year in which the Italian club was founded. The shirts will be available for sale through the club’s store, in addition to a number of distributors, starting tomorrow, Sunday, and part of the sales proceeds will go to charities.
Maradona scored 115 goals in 257 games for Napoli between 1984 and 1991.
