A new fall for Mourinho .. Venezia rises up and stuns Rome with an exciting 3-2 win
Roma continued to falter in Serie A, with a 3-2 loss to struggling hosts Venezia, who recovered from a first-half deficit with a stunning comeback after the break on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho’s team suffers from a long setback, as it won once in the last 7 matches in all competitions and was eliminated from the semi-finals, after collecting 4 points from the last 5 matches in the league.
Venezia advanced after 3 minutes with Mattia Caldara’s direct shot, but Roma took control in the last minutes of the first half, scoring two goals through Eldor Shumorodov and Tammy Abraham.
The hosts rose up and Mattia Aramo equalized from a penalty kick, then David Okriki added the third goal, so that coach Paolo Zanetti’s team jumped to 14th place with 12 points.
Roma are fifth with 19 points, 3 points behind Atlanta, and may fall back to sixth place if rivals Lazio beat hosts Salernitana later in the day.
