After allegations that Diallo hired a “masked” Saint-Germain player to beat her colleague Hamrouai, the police say their word

Paris Saint-Germain said that the French police released the women’s soccer player, Aminatou Diallo, on Thursday, after the attack on a female teammate last week.

And Saint-Germain announced on Wednesday that police had detained Diallo after opening an investigation into the alleged assault.

The newspaper “L’Équipe” reported that Diallo, 26, incited the injury of her colleague, Khaira Hamraoui, by asking two masked men to remove her from a car and assault her on the fourth of this month.

“The police released Aminatou Diallo, and the club will continue to support its players and help them get through this ordeal as soon as possible,” the club said in a statement.

“Paris Saint-Germain underscores its confidence in the judicial system to shed full light on the events. The club would like to thank everyone for their restraint, respect for the presumption of innocence and the privacy of the team.”

Diallo, who participated in 7 matches with the French national team, moved to the Parisian team from Guingamp in 2016.
