Iran national team players complain about their bad conditions: We wear old clothes and put them back on after washing

The players of the Iranian national football team, participating in the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, criticized the officials of the Iranian Federation for the game against the background of not paying rewards they promised, and revealed that they suffer from strange problems.

The Iranian team was a guest of its Lebanese counterpart, last Thursday, in the fifth round of the decisive third round of the Asian qualifiers, in a match during which it achieved a fatal victory (2-1), after scoring two goals in the calculated time instead of lost from the meeting that was held at the stadium. Sidon Municipal.

After the victory in which the Iranian team consolidated its lead in the first group, the players published a joint message through their respective accounts on “Instagram”, accompanied by a picture of their country’s flag on the map of the Islamic Republic.

“It is necessary to inform the people of the strange problems that the national team is facing,” the letter said.

They added, “We have been wearing old (sports) clothes for a year, and we re-wear them every time after washing,” and they continued, “Contrary to promises, the team players have not yet received the rewards despite the passage of months.”

They pointed out that since they ensured reaching the decisive round of the qualifiers by defeating Iraq with a clean goal last June, “our victories have become normal (for the officials of the Federation), and instead of them supporting us (…) they forgot us completely.”

Hours after the players’ message, the Iranian Federation’s spokesman, Hossein Sharifi, confirmed that the authority will do everything in its power to provide possible support to the players.

He said – in statements to the official TV – “The national team needs support, and we hope that everyone will remain on the side of the Federation in this matter,” stressing that the President of the Federation, Shehab El-Din Azizi Khadem, “seeks to solve the problems” that the players complain about.
