Earwax is the enemy of Apple headphones.. How to clean AirPods to improve sound quality?

AirPods are produced by Apple Inc.; One of the most common earbuds on the market at the moment, especially for iPhone users.

But like all earphones – and all devices – they get dirty over time and will need cleaning.

Not only are the headphones clogged with earwax, but there is also dirt that accumulates when lost under the car seat. Of course, anything that gets stuck in it every day will fill it with germs and grease.

To clean AirPods, you’ll need a soft, lint-free cloth – ideally a microfiber cloth – and a thin-ended tool.

The tool can be fine-edged such as a dental floss pick, hairpin, needle, or any other household item.

If there are dirty spots that do not come out, you may also need some alcohol.

The best way to clean AirPods

First, wipe the outside of the earpads with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.

Next, use a dry, lint-free cloth to dry the ear pads, being careful not to get any liquid into any holes, and you don’t need to soak the cloth, just wet it a little.

How to clean earwax from AirPods

To treat earwax stuck in the earphone hole, take a fine-edged tool or a dry cotton swab, and carefully extract the earwax, making sure to focus around the edges of the earphone.

If you are using a sharp object, be careful not to puncture the speaker. And if you have AirPods Pro, you’ll also need to clean the silicone tips that cover the earbuds.

Remove the silicone tips covering the AirPods Pro and rinse with water. Do not add soap or any other household cleaner.

Dry it with a soft, lint-free cloth and make sure it is completely dry. Once dry, reattach them to the AirPods Pro.

To remove the AirPods Pro tips, pull firmly from the base of the terminal where it is attached to the earphone.

To reconnect it, align the tip with the oval-shaped connectors on the earbuds and push it firmly inward. Once the connectors are aligned, they should be installed easily with a single click.

Cleaning the AirPods case

To clean an AirPods case, remove the AirPods and use a dry, lint-free cloth to wipe the outside of the case.

For tough stains, you can dampen the cloth slightly with alcohol, but be sure to dry the stains afterwards. Also, make sure that no moisture gets inside the AirPods, in the case, or in the charging port.

To remove debris from the charging port, use a soft-bristled brush.

To clean the inside of the case, also use a soft brush or a soft toothbrush, and the bristles will help remove dirt from the corners and crevices inside the case.
