France announces that its Prime Minister has been infected with Corona .. A fifth wave threatens Europe and America warns against traveling to Germany and Denmark
Yesterday, Monday, the United States advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Germany and Denmark due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus infection (Covid-19) in these two countries, while Paris announced that French Prime Minister Jean Castix had contracted the virus, amid fears of the spread of the new epidemic wave. in the whole of Europe.
And the US State Department published a level four warning – the highest ever – for each of these countries, noting that this warning “means that there is a very high level of Covid-19 infections in the country.”
This step comes at a time when Europe is struggling to stop the spread of a new epidemic wave, as the authorities in many countries of the old continent are seeking to impose health restrictions, which has been met in many places with protests interspersed at times with acts of violence, especially in the Netherlands.
And German Health Minister Jens Young had warned yesterday that most of his country’s population will be “either vaccinated, recovered or died” from Corona by the end of winter, due to the high number of Covid-19 infections in the country.
In Germany – as in neighboring Austria – the vaccination rate is still less than 70%, which is lower than that in other European countries such as France, where it reaches 75%.
Despite the protests that swept the streets at the weekend, the Austrian authorities went on to return to the closure again until December 13th.
But the return of the restrictions imposed to combat the epidemic sparked violence during the weekend in several European countries, especially in the Netherlands, where the Prime Minister condemned what he called violence carried out by “idiots”.
And in France, France announced yesterday evening, Monday, that Prime Minister Jean Castix had contracted the Corona virus, and accordingly, “his schedule has been adjusted for the coming days so that he can continue his activities in quarantine” during the next ten days.
The 56-year-old French Prime Minister received two doses of anti-Coronavirus vaccines in the spring, and he had previously had contact with people infected with the virus 3 times without being infected.
French President Emmanuel Macron was infected with Covid-19 in December 2020, and a number of French ministers were infected with the virus, such as the Minister of Economy Bruno Le Maire and Culture Minister Roslyn Bachelot.
In Israel, a vaccination campaign was launched, including children between the ages of 5 and 11 years, to become the second country in the world after the United States to reduce the age of vaccination to this extent in an attempt to stop the spread of the pandemic.
The government had announced that this vaccination campaign would officially start on Tuesday morning, and that Prime Minister Naftali Bennett would take his youngest son to a clinic on the outskirts of Tel Aviv to be vaccinated against the virus.
The Israeli authorities decided to expand the vaccination campaign to include all children aged 5 years and over, in an attempt to prevent a fifth pandemic wave in a country that was among the first in the world to vaccinate the majority of its adult population against the virus.
