The newly founded in Munich Allterco Europe GmbH is intended to advance the sales of the Bulgarian manufacturer in Europe. Wolfgang Kirsch – the former managing director of the MediaMarktSaturn Group – was enthroned here as CEO. As a recognized expert in consumer electronics, he should expand Allterco’s European business – through indirect sales and professional marketing in the individual European countries.
In his opinion, the starting position of Allterco is particularly promising in the German-speaking area: companies already generate a considerable part of their sales in Central Europe – this applies in particular to the flagship product line Shelly.
Gregor Bieler, the new member of the Allterco Advisory Board, has been CEO EMEA at the data mastery provider Aparavi since summer 2021. Before that, he was General Manager at Microsoft, responsible for partner business. Bieler is to drive the expansion in Europe at Allterco. “The potential in the smart home sector is huge,” says Bieler. “With the right strategy, we can not only reach those who already know and love us, but also convince those who have not or hardly dealt with the topic of home automation up to now. In Wolfgang Kirsch we have an experienced expert and I as The Chairman of the Advisory Board will make the best possible contribution to achieve our ambitious goals, “concluded Bieler.
Until 2018, Kirsch held a leading position at the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group – ultimately as Chief Operating Officer (COO). After driving the retailer’s expansion into numerous countries, he was most recently responsible for the development of own brands, the digitization of the retail business and the linking of online and offline channels across 16 countries. After leaving MediaMarktSaturn, Kirsch supported international corporations and medium-sized companies in the digital transformation and the development of direct-to-consumer businesses through his own consulting firm on behalf of private equity companies.
“The Smart Home topic is ready for widespread use and Shelly offers ideal technical conditions to become a leading player here,” said Wolfgang Kirsch. “Together with retailers across Europe, we want to ensure that customers understand and use the possibilities of the new technologies.” The “old world” should become a pioneer in terms of “digital tools for the home”.
