The Emir of Kuwait assigns Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Sabah to form the government
The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported today, Tuesday, that an Emiri order was issued assigning Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to form a new government.
In mid-November, the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, issued an order accepting the resignation of the previous government of Prime Minister Sabah Khaled.
The government submitted its resignation on the eighth of November, after issuing a decree to pardon opposition figures abroad.
This is the second resignation submitted by Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled, since he was assigned to form the government about a year ago.
And last March, the resigned government was sworn in before the Emir of the country with a lineup of 15 ministers.
This government came after Prince Nawaf reassigned Sabah Khaled to form it on January 24, following his government’s resignation earlier in the same month.
The Kuwaiti Prime Minister submitted the first resignation of his government – at the time – a week after he submitted a parliamentary interrogation against him for committing what deputies considered “procrastination in presenting its program of work.”
