How did Benzema respond to his imprisonment in France?

French star Karim Benzema responded on the field to a prison sentence imposed by scoring a goal with his Spanish team, Real Madrid in the European Football Champions League, and he also responded through social networking sites yesterday, Thursday.

On Wednesday, a court in Versailles, France, imposed a one-year suspended prison sentence and a fine of 75,000 euros on the French national football team striker and Real Madrid’s top scorer, after convicting him of trying to blackmail his former teammate Mathieu Valbuena with a sex tape.

Benzema contributed to Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over its host, Sheriff Tiraspol, on the day of the ruling, to lead the royal to the top of their group in the Champions League.

Benzema also made sure to respond through his personal accounts on social media with a picture of his celebration of the goal he scored in Sheriff Tiraspol, and commented, “Continue to focus on what I love most, great team efforts and a great victory, let’s continue.”

Activists praised Benzema’s focus with Real Madrid, despite other things that try to influence him, as one of the tweeters wrote about the Frenchman, “I was convicted of a felony and scored a goal on the same day, what a king!”

Another praised him, commenting on Benzema’s tweet, “The older you get, the better you will do again, and thank you for always replying.”
