UN human rights officials request a visit to Bahrain
Americans for Democracy & Human Rights in Bahrain (ADHRB) reported that new requests from United Nations Special Procedures offices were submitted to organize visits to Bahrain.
The organization explained, in tweets via Twitter, that the requests were made by the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial or arbitrary executions, and the independent expert on the promotion of a democratic and equitable international order.

She noted that the Special Rapporteur on torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment had also sent a reminder of a previous request to visit Bahrain, and had not yet received an answer.
The organization said that all these requests from the United Nations special procedures offices to visit Bahrain “come at a time when human rights violations are systematically escalating at the highest level of government.”
She called on the Bahraini government to allow the organization of these visits “if it has nothing to hide.”
