The American collaboration and cloud PBX specialist RingCentral announced a new set of calling features for Microsoft Teams. The company announced that customers should be able to choose between a direct routing solution and dialer integration for Microsoft Teams. They should also have direct access to fax, voicemail and call-to-web services.
The new call functions are now available. RingCentral plans to enable Call-to-Web and Voicemail before the end of this quarter. In the first quarter of the coming year, the announced fax functions will be added. There should be no additional costs for faxes and voicemails. Customers can switch between the RingCentral app and MS Teams via a dialing field or use the routing solution as a backend cloud telephone system with which calls can be made directly via the Microsoft software.
The improved onboarding that RingCentral has completed should also be of interest to partners. This should make it easier to provide the company’s solution within MS teams in the future.
Another innovation is called Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC). This should make it possible to provide your own telecommunications services by connecting the existing telecommunications provider to the RingCentral cloud. The company’s app will then take care of business calls, team messaging, video meetings, meeting transcriptions, task management and cloud storage. BYOC should also appear this quarter.
