In the forefront of Ronaldo, the reasons why Manchester United faltered this season

After the dismissal of Norwegian coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United decided to appoint German Ralf Rangnick in a bid to help the team rediscover itself and regain some of its glory. However, this task is not at all easy for the former coach of the “Leipzig” team, amid talk that the situation in the team’s dressing room is tense for various reasons.

Ronaldo and harmony with some of his colleagues

According to the Daily Mail, one of the most prominent problems is the lack of harmony between Cristiano Ronaldo and some of his colleagues, such as the young English star Mason Greenwood.

Meanwhile, Gary Neville, former captain of the team and an analyst at Sky Sports, hinted at a leadership confrontation between Ronaldo and Harry Maguire, whose leadership declined to the helm of the team after the arrival of the Portuguese star last summer.

Lack of team spirit

After Manuel’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle a few days ago, Neville also expressed his unease with the way Bruno Fernandes and Ronaldo treated some of their younger teammates.

“Something isn’t right,” Neville said. “There’s definitely gossip going on, the team is out of team spirit, the dressing-room spirit is really important, and I don’t think they’re all together at the moment.”

The former Manchester United defender also confirmed that Fernandes is struggling to adapt to his new coach’s 4-2-2-2 style.

Workout dates

According to British media, many players are struggling to adapt to late Rangnick’s training sessions, as yesterday’s training session ended at (1700 GMT), when it was already dark.

Departing players

Players such as Anthony Martial, Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly, Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek are barely playing any minutes, and United could sell them out or loan them out next month.
