Historic win for Wolverhampton deepens Manchester United’s wounds in the English Premier League
Wolverhampton clinched a historic victory at Old Trafford at the expense of Manchester United, who continued their disappointing results in the English Premier League.
In the 21st stage of the English Premier League, Portuguese Joao Moutinho scored the game’s only goal in the 82nd minute and gave Wolves their first win at Old Trafford since 1980.
Wolverhampton raised its score to 28 points in eighth place, three points behind Manchester United, who is in seventh place.
Manchester United is 22 points behind its leaders, Manchester City, and the team that plays Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo will be satisfied with the competition for the fourth place in the Champions League qualification, as it is currently 4 points behind Arsenal, which is in fourth place.
This is the first defeat for Manchester United under the leadership of German coach Ralf Rangnick, who took over the leadership of the team, succeeding the Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in early December.
