Corona .. America is waiting for difficult weeks and record numbers of injuries in France and Italy

The Corona virus and its mutant Omicron are spreading around the world at a rapid pace, and the White House announced that the coming weeks will be difficult, while France and Italy set new records for infections.

And data from Johns Hopkins University showed that the number of injuries worldwide rose to more than 292 million.

And the coordinator of the White House team to confront the Corona virus, Jeff Zients, said that the coming weeks will be difficult in the United States, and that the number of people infected with the Omicron mutant will increase.

For her part, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Rochelle Willensky said that a record increase in the number of injuries and deaths has been recorded during the past weeks, indicating that the rate of increase in the past seven days is approximately 98%.

Wellinsky explained that 95% of infections are omicron.

She added, “The number of injured people admitted to hospitals this week was about 15,000 per day, an increase of 63%, while the number of deaths reached about 1,200 per day, as we recorded an increase of 5% compared to the previous week.”

In this context, the advisory board of the US Food and Drug Administration approved a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine for the age group of 12 to 17 years.

In France, Prime Minister Jean Castix said during a Senate hearing that the government is facing difficulties with a minority of its citizens who refuse to take the Corona vaccine and are causing divisions in society.

On Wednesday, France recorded 335,000 new infections with the Corona virus, in a new record, in addition to 246 deaths.

For its part, the United Kingdom canceled the mandatory conduct of Corona examination before leaving the country for vaccinated visitors, after pressing the airlines that were badly affected by the spread of Omicron.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson told Parliament, after a 3-week periodic review of travel restrictions, that examinations would still be required within two days of entering the country, but the obligation to conduct an expensive examination would be abolished.

On the other hand, the Italian Ministry of Health said that it recorded 189,000 new infections on Wednesday, in a daily record, up from about 171,000 the previous day.

Turkey recorded 143 deaths, in addition to 66,467 cases of corona.

As for the Egyptian Ministry of Health, it recorded 803 new injuries and 27 deaths, up from 769 injuries and 19 deaths the previous day.
