Activists launched the hashtag “Our mosques will not be demolished” as part of an electronic campaign to reject the Israeli occupation’s decision to demolish Al-Taqwa Mosque in the town of Al-Isawiya, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of not having a license.

The residents of Al-Isawiya town called on the Jerusalemites to confront the demolition decision, work to stop it, and the need to rise up in rejection of the occupation’s decision to target places of worship.

Last Wednesday, the Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem issued an administrative decision to demolish the Al-Taqwa Mosque, which is still under construction, within 15 days from the date of issuing the decision, under the pretext of building without a permit.

Activists, using the hashtag “Our mosques will not be demolished,” denounced the Israeli decision against Al-Isawiya Mosque, amid calls for the need to confront the policy of demolition pursued by the occupation authorities.

Among the interactions that were monitored, the most prominent of which was an episode (01/17/2022) of the program “Nashrat Al-Shamtah – your publication” was written by blogger Youssef Obaid on Facebook, where he commented: “By God, the eye sheds tears and the heart squeezes pain over what the affairs of Jerusalem, oppression, injustice, and prevention of erecting the houses of God.”

He considered that the decision to demolish Baitullah Al-Taqwa Mosque in Al-Isawiya by the occupation municipality is a first precedent for demolishing a mosque in the village, and that the mosque is not only for Al-Isawiya but is for the general Muslims.

As for Muhammad Al-Fatih Abu Omar, he wrote: What is this weakness? Has the defense of our sanctities become through activists and electronic invitations…?!

The tweeter Nassm wrote that the occupation wants to demolish the Al-Taqwa Mosque in Jerusalem, “Our mosques will not be demolished,” and said that the occupation knows only the language of demolition, murder and treachery, and she asked: Where are those who were drumming and filming and claiming that they are tolerant of Muslims?!

According to a tweet by activist Ahmed Abu Mila, the occupation municipality issues a decision to demolish Al-Taqwa Mosque in Al-Isawiya, adding that Israel has begun to persist in its attacks in a frightening and major way, especially in the Holy City, as it attacks mosques, churches, heritage, and everything proves the ancient Arab and Islamic identity.
