The most important new function: The current proof of vaccination status of the user is now displayed in the certificate area. A glance at the upper right corner of the certificate shows the current proof of status of the certificate holder. After tapping on the certificate, further information on the status proof and thus on which rule a certificate fulfills can be found below.
According to the developers, the differences are as follows:
-
3GMeans fully vaccinated, recovered or tested negative. According to the 3G rule, users must provide one of the following certificates: vaccination or recovery certificate, rapid test certificate (maximum 48 hours old) or PCR test certificate (maximum 72 hours old).
-
3G +Means that entry is only permitted for fully vaccinated or recovered persons or persons with a negative PCR test. Users must provide at least one of the following certificates: vaccination, convalescence, or PCR test certificate (maximum 72 hours old). With 3G+ status, users automatically also comply with the rules of 3G events.
-
2GRepresents fully vaccinated or recovered. If the 2G rule applies, only people who are fully vaccinated or recovered have access. Users must provide at least one vaccination or recovery certificate, but no test certificate. With 2G status, users also automatically fulfill the 3G+ and 3G rule.
-
2G+Means that only people who are fully vaccinated or recovered and who can also show a negative test are allowed access. Users must provide proof of a vaccination or recovery certificate and also a PCR or rapid test certificate (maximum 72 or 48 hours old). With 2G+ status, users also automatically comply with the 2G, 3G+ and 3G rules.
It is emphasized that, according to the decision of the federal and state health ministers, vaccinated or recovered people who have received a booster vaccination do not currently have to submit a current test for a 2G-Plus regulation. The Corona-Warn-App takes this into account Regulation in the status display not yet. “This means that if there is a certificate of vaccination or recovery and a certificate of the booster vaccination, it does not yet show the 2G+ status. The project team is already working on the CWA including certificates of booster vaccinations accordingly in the future,” according to the developers.
It is also pointed out that for data protection reasons, when the certificates are checked by the CovPassCheck app, the examiner does not see whether a person has a vaccination or recovery certificate. The inspector only sees whether a certificate is valid or not.
For users who have both a valid vaccination or recovery certificate and If you have stored a valid test certificate in the Corona-Warn-App, this will be shown in a combined display from version 2.16. You can use a switch to switch between the QR code for the “2G certificate” (for proof of vaccination or recovery) and the test certificate. In this way, a 2G+ proof can be presented more quickly.
As of version 2.16, the iOS version of the Corona-Warn-App also informs users more clearly of a change in the risk status in the lower left under “Status” in the bar with a red dot under “Status” as soon as the app is opened. This is to prevent users from overlooking this warning, for example when they are in the “Certificates” tab. This new function is to be added to the Android version of the Corona-Warn-App with version 2.17. (PC world)
