His plane landed in Sharm el-Sheikh before the flight resumed.. An Israeli delegation arrives in Khartoum
An Israeli delegation arrived this afternoon, Wednesday, in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, according to what was reported by the official Israeli radio, which did not give any details about the nature of the mission of this delegation, whose visit had not been announced in advance.
The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation said that the plane of the Israeli delegation landed in Sharm El-Sheikh before arriving in Khartoum, adding that the delegation will return this evening to Tel Aviv.
An official Israeli delegation went to Sudan last November, a month after the announcement of the normalization of relations between Khartoum and Tel Aviv.
In October 2020, then-US President Donald Trump announced that Sudan and Israel had agreed to normalize relations between them.
In total, 4 Arab countries – the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco – last year signed agreements to normalize relations with Israel, to join Egypt and Jordan out of 22 Arab countries.
Last year’s normalization agreements sparked widespread Arab anger, in light of Israel’s continued occupation of lands in more than one Arab country, its refusal to establish an independent Palestinian state, and its daily violations of the Palestinian people’s rights.
