Reuters: A hearing has been set to review the Qatar Airways lawsuit against Airbus in late April
Informed sources said that, on Thursday, a procedural session was scheduled for next April 26 to consider a rare lawsuit involving Qatar Airways’ claim of more than $600 million in damages from Airbus due to paint defects on A350 aircraft.
With the case avoiding a quick settlement, experts say it is the first time ever that a dispute over contracts and safety between an aircraft manufacturer and a major airline has threatened to take the case to court, allowing commercial decisions and technical issues to be revealed.
The date for the procedural hearing was set by a section of the High Court in London.
This case raises questions about 23 A350s that Qatar has not yet received, after Airbus canceled a contract with the Qatari company to buy 50 A321s.
