Congolese player Chancel Mbemba has been linked with 4 dates of birth since his arrival in Europe through the Belgian club Anderlecht in 2013.

The player’s passport upon arrival in Belgium showed that he was born on August 8, 1994, but the information provided for two teams he played for in his country, Congo, showed that he was born on August 8, 1988, according to the RTL website (RTL) the Belgian.

The player provided November 30, 1991 as his date of birth when he joined the Congo national team, and increased the ambiguity about his age when he mentioned in a previous interview that he was born in 1990.

During an investigation in 2013, a member of the Congolese Football Federation revealed that Mbemba’s birth year had been changed from 1988 to 1991 in order to give him the opportunity to participate in the Olympic team, which includes players under 23 years old.

In previous statements to the newspaper “Mirror” (Mirror) British, Mbemba confirmed that he was born in 1994, which was proven by tests, and justified the conflict over his dates of birth by saying, “Sometimes in Africa when people see a successful person, they try to bring him down or damage his career.”
