Lewandowski’s runner-up .. This player is a candidate to replace Haaland’s departure from Borussia Dortmund

Bayern Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has ruled out Patrick Schick’s departure from the team next summer, despite rumors that the Czech striker could replace Norwegian star Erling Haaland in the ranks of Borussia Dortmund.

Haaland is attracting the attention of many top clubs in Europe, and his contract with Borussia Dortmund, which runs until 2024, includes a penalty clause of 75 million euros ($86 million).

In the event of Halland’s departure from Dortmund, the club will need to compensate him, and it was reported that Schick was a possible option.

But Rolfes said in statements to the “Bild TV” channel, today, Sunday, that Schick “likes the atmosphere here and does not intend to leave the club.”

Schick, 26, scored 18 goals this season in the German League, to occupy the second place in the scorers list after Lewandowski (23 goals) and followed by Haaland (16 goals).

Schick’s contract runs until 2025, and Rolfes has described him as an important player for the club’s future and will therefore continue with the team.

“This is clearly planned, and we are convinced that this is what will happen,” Rolfes said.
