Corona tests anger the Iraqi team in Iran

Today, Monday, the management of the Iraqi national football team objected to the results of the tests conducted yesterday for its mission in Iran.

The tests showed a positive result for the players Yasser Qassem and Manaf Younes, in addition to the managing director Ghaith Muhanna, the goalkeeper coach Ahmed Jassem, the therapist Yassin Khudair, and the accountant Mustafa Khaled.

The Iraqi Federation said in a statement, “The delegation’s management demanded a re-examination of the people whose tests appeared positive because they had taken the PCR tests a few hours before traveling to Iran, and the result of the examination was negative.”

The statement added, “The administrative director of the national team, Ghaith Muhanna, conducted personal examination tests through rapid examination samples (antigen), through which the result of the examination appeared negative, that is, the opposite of what was proven in the report of the examination results that were conducted.”

The federation later announced that its insistence on the demand for re-examination was tired by taking new samples from those concerned, and waiting for the new results to appear, and they were committed to quarantine in their rooms.

It is expected that the Iraqi team will meet its Iranian counterpart at the latter’s home at Azadi Stadium, next Thursday, in the qualifiers for the World Cup “Qatar 2022”.
