Omani player Munther Al Harrasi dies on the field

Yesterday, Sunday, the Omani Rustaq Club announced the death of its player Munther Al-Harassi, son of the former player Ali bin Saeed bin Masoud Al-Harassi, after he fell on the field.

Al-Rustaq Club mourned – through its Twitter account – the player, saying, “The board of directors extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the former club player Ali bin Saeed bin Masoud Al-Harassi, on the death of his son Munther.”

He added, “Condolences are extended to the Jamma team, management and members. May God accept the deceased with the abundance of his mercy, put him in spacious gardens, and inspire his family and relatives patience and solace. We belong to God and to Him we shall return.”

Yesterday, Sunday, local media in Oman reported that Al-Harassi fell unconscious on the field due to a heart attack that led to his later death.

And the death of Munther Al-Harassi is not the first in the Omani league, as Muscat FC player Makhlid Al-Raqadi had previously died during the warm-up operations before a match for his team last month.
