Wortmann AG has now been able to continue on its successful course and, with an increase of three percent for 2021, can actually report sales of over one billion euros for the AG alone. But company founder and CEO Siegbert Wortmann is not only thinking about his own success: “We are pleased to note this result, but our thoughts are always with the people who are not doing so well economically,” he points out. As an example, Wortmann cites the many people who lost their belongings a few months ago as a result of the flood disaster and who, through no fault of their own, found themselves in existential need.

The pandemic has hit the Hüllhorst-based PC manufacturer and distributor far less severely than others. “We assumed that we would have to reckon with a decline in sales, especially in the second half of the year. However, the figures were more than stable in the third and fourth quarters and we were able to grow in almost all areas. The basis for this was and is an outstanding workforce, the I would like to thank you,” says the CEO.

In the core business, sales with the Terra brand in the PC business could be kept “relatively stable”. Wortmann has grown in notebooks, displays and servers, but also in the distribution business. The service areas developed successfully with increases of around five percent. Wortmann even reports growth of around 50 and 40 percent for cloud and financial products. According to Wortmann, the company’s position in foreign business has also “consolidated”.

The fact that resellers are also satisfied with Wortmann is shown by the Channel Excellence Awards recently presented by ChannelPartner in cooperation with the market research company Context: Wortmann took first place in the “Full-Range Distributors” category (Channel Excellence Awards 2022).

The course of growth is also reflected in the workforce: last year, the company created 30 new jobs and now employs around 730 people, almost 100 of whom are in training. “In our 36th business year, we want to hold on to our own strengths and ideals in a market that is becoming more difficult, and we will continue to be a solid business partner in the future in order to continue creating secure jobs,” promises Siegbert Wortmann. You don’t need to “hide from any other company”. In the current year, Wortmann wants to commit to Germany as a production location and to education and training in-house. “I am pleased that we are already well advanced in the planning for the next expansion stage of the Terra Cloud with Cubes 8 to 13,” reports the company boss.
