A precious victory over Oman.. Saudi Arabia is close to qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar

Saudi Arabia took another big step towards qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, after winning its home 1-0 over Oman on Thursday.

The match was held at the Radiant Jewel Stadium, King Abdullah Sports City, in the city of Jeddah, in the presence of a large crowd, which ignited the enthusiasm of the Saudi team, which had the upper hand in controlling the match and winning its result.

Firas Al-Braikan scored a goal 3 minutes after the start of the second half, thus boosting Saudi Arabia’s lead in the second group with 19 points from 7 matches, 4 points ahead of Japan and 5 points from Australia, its closest competitor.

Oman has 7 points in fourth place.

The first two teams from the first and second groups qualify directly for the finals in Qatar, while the two third-placed teams will meet in an Asian playoff to determine the team that will compete in the international playoffs.
