New coalition raids in Yemen.. Giants brigades are advancing in Marib, and the Houthis target them with a ballistic missile in Shabwa

The UAE-backed Giants Brigades announced today, Saturday, that they have made new progress in the Ma’rib Governorate (east of Sanaa) after battles with the Houthis, who announced that they had targeted these forces with a ballistic missile in Shabwa governorate, while the coalition launched new raids on the Houthi group’s sites in several Yemeni governorates.

The Giants Brigades said that their gunmen took control of the Najd and Al-Hajla areas, located between the Harib and Al-Juba districts in the Ma’rib governorate.

This development comes after the Houthis recently lost areas in southern Marib that they had controlled in the past few weeks.

These Emirati-backed brigades announced yesterday, Friday, that they had begun repositioning their forces in Shabwa Governorate (southeast of Yemen), and said that this step came after completing an operation called “Hurricane of the South”, during which it was able to recover the districts of Usaylan and Baihan from the Houthis.

For its part, the Yemeni army announced that its forces launched an attack on Houthi militia positions in the southern Marib governorate, which resulted in deaths and injuries and the destruction of their combat vehicles and equipment.

On the other hand, the military spokesman of the Houthi group, Yahya Saree, announced the bombing of a large gathering of forces loyal to the UAE in the Usaylan district of Shabwa governorate with a ballistic missile.

Saree said that the injury was accurate and left more than 40 dead and wounded in the ranks of these forces, and destroyed a number of their vehicles.

Coalition raids

For its part, the Saudi-led coalition announced today, Saturday, that it had carried out 27 targeting operations against the Houthis in the Marib Governorate during the past hours.

The coalition said that these strikes killed more than 90 Houthi militants and destroyed 13 military vehicles.

Media affiliated with the Ansar Allah Houthi group stated that the coalition warplanes launched 30 raids on the governorates of Ma’rib, Al-Jawf (northeast), Al-Bayda (central) and Al-Hudaydah (west).

In another field development, Houthi media reported the death of a child and the wounding of another, today, Saturday, as a result of artillery shelling in the Jabaliya area of ​​Al-Tuhayta District in Al-Hodeidah (west).

On the humanitarian front, Doctors Without Borders said that Marib Governorate is suffering from severe conditions and an emergency crisis, in light of a cold wave in which temperatures reach less than 10 degrees Celsius.

The organization added that the repeated waves of displacement have affected the population greatly, especially the vulnerable groups.

She added that her clinics received huge numbers of patients, most of them children, due to the deteriorating living conditions.

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) called for urgent action and response to the needs in order to limit the deterioration of the health and humanitarian crisis in Marib.
