With the countdown to the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, football fans around the world are waiting for the launch of the Lusail Stadium, which is expected to take place in the next few weeks; To complete the opening of all eight stadiums hosting the tournament.

Lusail Stadium represents the jewel in the crown for the Qatar World Cup stadiums as the main stadium of the tournament, which will host the final match on December 18, and is the largest host stadium for the tournament, with an official capacity of more than 80,000 fans.

Over the past few years, the organizers had opened the other seven host stadiums for the tournament, which are “Khalifa International”, “Al Thumama”, “Al Bait”, “Education City”, “Ahmed Bin Ali”, “Al Janoub” and “974”.

Work has been completed at Lusail Stadium, and it is already waiting for the “zero hour” and the official opening, which is expected to take place in the next few weeks through one of the major tournaments or one of the important events that Qatar has been hosting in the past years as part of its organizational and logistical preparations to host the World Cup.

And all the conditions were ripe for the perfect opening of the “Lusail” stadium, in light of the great success achieved by the various stadiums in the tournament in hosting many tournaments over the past years, the most recent of which was the Arab Cup last December.

The organizers were keen to provide all the necessary elements for easy access to the “Lusail” stadium, which is located in the city of the same name, 20 kilometers from the capital, Doha.

A few weeks ago, the trial operation of the Lusail Tram began through 6 stations on the Orange Line, in preparation for hosting the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

It is expected that the next few weeks will witness the announcement of the tournament or major event that will witness the opening of the “Lusail” stadium, especially as the organizers will invite many FIFA officials and prominent sports figures from all over the world to participate in Qatar this historic moment; Not only to inaugurate the main stadium for the tournament, but also to confirm the completion of the preparations for the entire country and its stadiums months before the start of the first World Cup in the Middle East.

The stadium’s design was inspired by the interplay of light and shadow that characterizes the traditional Arab lighthouse or “lantern.” Its structure and facade also reflect the intricate inscriptions on food bowls, utensils and other pieces of art found throughout the Arab and Islamic world during the rise of civilization in the region.

After the 2022 World Cup, Lusail Stadium will be transformed into a community destination that includes schools, shops, cafes, sports facilities and medical clinics.

This multi-purpose community center will provide everything people need under one roof, which is the original roof of the football stadium, as part of the interest of the organizers in Qatar that the tournament will leave an important and great legacy for the country.
