The two new ColorEdge monitors of the Eizo Europe GmbH differ in resolution. Behind the abbreviation CG2700S is a WQHD resolution with 2560 x 1440 pixels, the CG2700X delivers a 4K UHD image with 3840 x 2160 pixels. The integrated USB-C connection allows image signals and data to be transmitted in parallel. In addition, the power delivery function supplies corresponding devices with up to 92 or 94 watts of electricity (UHD). In conjunction with the integrated LAN connection, the new Eizos become the hub of a modern workplace.
A wide-gamut IPS panel with 10-bit color depth and 16-bit LUT (look-up table) provides the usual Eizo feast for the eyes, with saturated colors and smooth color transitions. The color space coverage is 99 percent Adobe-RGB and 98 percent DCI-P3, the maximum brightness is 500 cd/m² for the CG2700X and 400 cd/m² for the CG2700S. The True Black technology enables contrasts of up to 1,450:1 with the 4K model and 1,600:1 with WQHD. Eizo’s Digital Uniformity Equalizer also ensures precise and homogeneous brightness and color representation over the entire display area.

With the support of the HLG and PQ curves for the display and processing of HDR videos as well as with the high brightness and contrast values, a large part of the contrast range of the HDR material to be processed can be displayed with the new models. This makes them perfect for an HDR production workflow that ends with an HDR reference monitor.
The ColorEdge CG2700X and CG2700S are the first models of Eizo’s ColorEdge Prominence HDR reference monitors to be equipped with a sync signal. Here, the monitor’s settings automatically adapt to the video signal to ensure that the color settings remain consistent throughout the production.
Automated hardware calibration is possible in conjunction with Eizo’s in-house ColorNavigator 7 calibration software. In addition to a simple adjustment, the monitors can be adapted to the needs of professional users down to the last detail. In this way, Eizo offers consistent image display over the entire service life of the device.

With its LAN connectivity, the USB Type-C port on the professional monitors from Eizo also ensures a stable network connection between mobile USB devices and the wired network. In addition to HDMI and display ports, a USB upstream port is also integrated. Both monitors come with a newly developed lightweight light protection hood that attaches magnetically to the monitor.
An ergonomic stand with adjustment options for height, tilt, swivel and rotation completes the offer together with a five-year manufacturer’s guarantee. The Eizo Color Edge CG2700S is expected to be delivered in May 2022 and the CG2700X in autumn 2022. According to Eizo, the prices have not yet been determined at this point in time.
