Omani Foreign Minister visits Damascus at the head of an official delegation

The Syrian regime reported that the Omani Foreign Minister, Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, arrived in Damascus at the head of an official delegation, where he was received by his Syrian counterpart, Faisal Miqdad.

The Syrian regime news agency (SANA) said that the foreign minister received al-Busaidi at Damascus International Airport, where al-Miqdad told reporters upon the reception that this visit was “detailed and important.”

“The relations between the two brotherly countries continue and have not been interrupted, and the Sultanate of Oman has stood by Syria in its war against terrorism,” SANA quoted Al-Miqdad as saying during the reception of Al-Busaidi.

The agency also quoted statements by the Sultanate’s foreign minister, in which he said that Muscat is looking forward to holding talks and consultations with Damascus, in a way that serves the development of bilateral relations and the strengthening of Arab cooperation.

The Omani Foreign Minister also met today in Damascus with the President of the Syrian regime, Bashar al-Assad.
